At Louie Pediatric Dentistry, we specialize in the treatment of infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special health care needs. We believe that through the use of gentle dentistry, we can create a pleasant dental experience for children at an early age. This way they will be more likely to have a positive attitude towards dentistry that will last a lifetime.
Our two dentists, "the original" Dr. Louie and his son Dr. Pj have over 35 years of combined experience in the specialty of pediatric dentistry.
Dr. Lawrence A. Louie, has been practicing in the Dover area since 1989. After completing his pediatric dental residency at Indiana University/James Whitcomb Riley Children's Hospital he returned to the area where he grew up to provided dental services for children and
has never left. His love for his profession was one of the main inspirations that led his son, Dr. Pj, to join him in 2013.
Dr. Phillip J. Louie, "Dr. Pj", grew up around pediatric dentistry, and over time developed the same love for it that his father has always had. After dental school Dr. Pj completed a residency program at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, the number one children's hospital in the country at that time. After residency he joined his father to practice in the same town he had grown up in. Since joining his father in practice Dr. Pj has developed a hospital dentistry program at Kent General Hospital, the first of its kind in Kent County.
Whether your child is treated by Dr. Louie or Dr. Pj, in the office or in the hospital, you can be sure that they are being treated like family.

Dental Home
A Dental Home is an ongoing relationship between a dentist and a patient, and is inclusive of all aspects of oral health in a comprehensive, continuous, coordinated and family-centered manner.
Preventive Services
Regular dental cleanings, x-rays, fluoride treatments, sealants and anticipatory guidance can greatly reduce the risk of developing cavities.
Sedation & Hospital Dentistry
Although most children can tolerate dental procedures well, if needed, we can provide nitrous oxide "laughing gas" in the office and on a case by case basis in office sedation. When patients are extremely uncooperative or need extensive amounts of work we are also able to put children "to sleep" in the safety of a hospital setting to complete any required dental treatment.
Emergency Dentistry
Accidents happen, especially when it comes to small children. Once you have become an established patient at our office we are available to your for dental emergencies 24 hours a day
Infant Oral Health
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry & The American Academy of Pediatrics recommend children establish a dental home by age 1 or within 6 months of the eruption of the first tooth.
Restorative treatment
If cavities have already developed we can provide silver fillings, white fillings, baby tooth root canals, silver crowns and most extractions in office.
